Cách làm Process Diagram
Dạng này không thường gặp nhưng không phải là không có, do đó các bạn cũng cần phải có sự chuẩn bị.
Cũng như những dạng graph khác, cấu trúc cũng sẽ bao gồm 3 phần:
1. Introduction
2. Overview
3. Details

A process Diagram tóm tắt lại một quy trình theo thứ tự thời gian. Vì vậy, bạn nên bắt đầu mô tả bước đầu tiên của quy trình theo trình tự đến bước cuối cùng. Bạn có thể dễ dàng thấy được điều này trong ví dụ trên. Bước đầu tiên là Clay digging và bước cuối cùng là delivery, nhưng đôi khi có những quy trình không phải dễ dàng nhìn thấy được bước đầu tiên hay đôi khi một bước sẽ bao gồm hai hai thao tác nên điều quan trọng là bạn nên tập làm quen với nhiều bài mẫu khác nhau.
Khác với các dạng graph khác, đối với process diagram chúng ta không dùng thì quá khứnhưng dùng thì hiện tại để viết.

Process Diagram khác với các dạng biểu đồ vì thường không có sự thay đổi hay xu hướng. Tuy nhiên, bạn cũng cần đưa ra một cái nhìn tổng quan về quy trình. Vậy các bạn nên viết overview như thế nào: các bạn có thể nói có bao nhiêu bước trong quy trình, bước đầu và bước cuối.
Theo diagram ví dụ phía trên, các bạn có thể viết như sau:

Đối với phần thân bài, các bạn cần quan tâm đến 2 dạng ngôn ngữ: 1)Time Connectors và 2) Passive (câu bị động)
Một quá trình bao gồm nhiều giai đoạn tiếp nối nhau. Vì vậy, để kết nối các giai đoạn bạn cần sử dụng “Time Connector” . Bạn đọc đoạn văn sau và chú ý những từ được in đậm: (khi mô tả bạn đi theo trình tự từ đầu đến cuối):
To begin, the clay used to make the bricks is dug up from the ground by a large digger. This clay is then placed onto a metal grid, which is used to break up the clay into smaller pieces. A roller assists in this process.
Following this, sand and water are added to the clay, and this mixture is turned into bricks by either placing it into a mould or using a wire cutter. Next, these bricks are placed in an oven to dry for 24 – 48 hours.
In the subsequent stage, the bricks go through a heating and cooling process. They are heated in a kiln at a moderate and then a high temperature (ranging from 200c to 1300c),followed by a cooling process in a chamber for 2 – 3 days. Finally, the bricks are packed and delivered to their destinations.

Passive Voice (Câu bị động)
Khi mô tả process, chúng ta tập trung vào các hoạt động, không phải chủ thể thực hiện những hoạt động này nên mẫu câu được sử dụng thường xuyên là câu bị động không phải câu chủ động.
Sau đây là một vài ví dụ về cách dùng câu bị động:
Từ diagram, bước đầu tiên các bạn sẽ thấy chủ ngữ là clay, động từ là dig, khi dùng câu bị động các bạn sẽ chuyển câu lại như sau:

Tuy nhiên, có những động từ không thể chuyển qua thể bị động vì không hợp lý chẳng hạn như “to go” , ta có thể viết lại như sau:

Chú ý động từ được tô đen trong ví dụ sau đây:
